Keeping the flame of Pride burning bright. For their national campaign, Deloitte wanted to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the beginnings of the Canadian Pride movement: in 1981, after Toronto police raided local bathhouses, the queer community rose up and began a protest movement that continues to this day. We wanted to show how the passion and love of that first Pride still burns. By mixing archival protest footage with cinéma vérité imagery, and soundbites from Deloitte practitioners, the spot captures the strength, resiliency, and hope the queer community keeps alive.
